Acts:Reboot #1

Posted 1/13/2019

Sunday Morning Series by Pastor Lee Evans

 Acts:Reboot #1

Acts 1:1-8 (CSB)

1 I wrote the first narrative, Theophilus, about all that Jesus began to do and teach 2  until the day he was taken up, after he had given instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen. 3  After he had suffered, he also presented himself alive to them by many convincing proofs, appearing to them over a period of forty days and speaking about the kingdom of God. 4  While he was with them, he commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for the Father's promise. "Which," he said, "you have heard me speak about; 5  for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit in a few days." 6  So when they had come together, they asked him, "Lord, are you restoring the kingdom to Israel at this time?“ 7  He said to them, "It is not for you to know times or periods that the Father has set by his own authority. 8  But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."

Let the Word do its Work! 16  All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, 17 so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. 2 Tim.  3:16-17

  His Return! V. 11

Acts 1:1-4 (CSB)

Offer Yourself to God to Obey Him!

12  Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, so that you obey its desires. 13  And do not offer any parts of it to sin as weapons for unrighteousness. But as those who are alive from the dead, offer yourselves to God, and all the parts of yourselves to God as weapons for righteousness. 14  For sin will not rule over you, because you are not under the law but under grace. Romans 6:12-14 (CSB)

Ask His Spirit to Fill you & make you His Witness!

13  If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him? Luke 11:13

18  And don't get drunk with wine, which leads to reckless living, but be filled by the Spirit: Eph. 5:18 (CSB)

8  But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." Acts 1:8 (CSB)
